Facts about Onsted, Michigan

Onsted, Michigan is located in northwestern Lenawee County in Cambridge Township. This area is known as the Irish Hills area, a picturesque, hilly region surrounded by many small lakes. Onsted was organized in 1884 by William Onsted, named after his father, John, who was the first person to purchase land here. It became a town as a result of the Michigan & Ohio Railroad coming through here. It was eventually incorporated as a village in 1907.
